Dinner with Josh and Jessica

While we were at the beach our friends, Josh and Jessica, moved into their new house where they will live together after their wedding on July 19!!!! They invited us over for dinner and while we were there Jessica was showing me her hat that she is wearing to her Bridesmaids Luncheon and Patton decided it would be fun to put it on and of couse I had my camera with me. Patton didn't look to sure about that hat but he did look like he was having a ball playing with Jessica!

I'm going home, to the place where I belong...

So Saturday we made it home safe and sound after sitting in traffic for an hour and a half in Montgomery with stinky diapers and all. (luckily we were in a great position to pull off on the shoulder so we could clean Patton up) I think Patton was happy to be home in his surroundings and to sleep in his own bed. But overall, we had a wonderful FIRST family of 3 vacation!

Orange Beach

Thursday morning we woke up bright and early to drive from Destin to Orange Beach to meet the Hunnicutts, all of them!!! Dad, Terri, Me, Mark, Patton, Tyler, Haley Grace, Erika, Trent, Luke, Evan and Audrey stayed in a 3 bedroom condo together for 2 nights and yes, WE SURVIVED and had a good time.

Turns out Patton liked the beach much better once he had his cousins to play in the pool with him...

Thursday evening, Papa and Rere (Dad and Terri) had Keith Davis come take pictures of the whole clan on the beach. It was fun and quite an experience trying to get four children to smile and look all at the same time. Then we all went to Sea n Suds to eat, yes in all white and khacki. We looked like we were part of a cult! Then we went to the arcade and had some fun there! The pictures below are not the professional ones but are taken with our camera. I will post better once when we get the CD of all the pics taken that day.

Destin

Patton was all packed and ready to go...

Of course the first thing we did when we arrived since the condo wasn't ready was stop at the Back Porch for some oysters! That is Mark's favorite thing to do and to think he only ate his first oyster 5 years ago during our first beach trip together.

Patton and Daddy at the Back Porch...

We love going to Baytowne Wharf especially now that we have Patton to push around. We ate at Acme Oyster House and Patton flirted with the waitress the entire time. It was hysterical...

After dinner at Acme we enjoyed a nice LONG walk down to the marina and looked at all the boats. I found one I would love to have but that is only in my dreams!

Patton on the beach. We tried everything for him to like being on the beach, I mean everything, as you can see we had a blow up pool with water in it. It was sitting under a pop up cabana, and we even blew his turtle float up and put that in the pool. Oh and not to mention the thousands of toys he had out there. He was just not having it!!! Well maybe he was content for about 10 minutes.

Even though Patton hated sitting on the beach he loved the ocean. The picture of him and his daddy below was the first time in the ocean and he was still warming up...

Once Patton got warmed up you can tell he had so much fun in the water...

We finally stuck Patton at the edge of the water where the water would come up to him just a little bit and we found that he enjoyed playing in the wet sand but he also enjoyed eating it too...

We got smart the last day we were in Destin and just decided to bring him out in the stroller. He liked that much better...

First things first, Father's Day

For Mark's first Father's Day we woke up very early and got ready to head to Destin but before we left Patton showered his daddy with lots of love and gifts! He gave him an hour massage and a very cute 5 frame picture frame with pictures of Patton holding D A D D Y letters. It is adorable. It's kind of hard to see in this picture but you can get the idea.

These are the pictures that I used of Patton in the frame below...

Here are the pictures in the frame but I had to adjust them some after this picture so it wouldn't cut some of Patton off...

Finally, Father's Day at the beach, can it get any better...

An unpleasant summer thunderstorm!!!

Wednesday night our area got hit with a nasty thunderstorm. It rained for a couple of hours and hailed a little bit. Around 6:30 the power went out and it stayed out until 11:00!!!! I had 13 candles burning and it was so hot in the house. As a result of the power being out the sump pump in our basement was unable to run so we had about 6 inches of water in the basement and a tree fell in the backyard. But of course, Patton slept through it all!!!!

Well on his WAY!!!!

When I got to daycare this afternoon to pick Patton up Ms. Sonje and Ms. Janet said he crawled all over the place today!!! All the teachers came by to watch him. So I immediately put him down and he crawled all the way over to me!!! I was so proud of my sweet angel! We came home and I put him on the floor and this is what took place..... (Sorry the lighting is really bad, we had just gotten home and I had managed to turn on all the lights yet!)

Thinking about it....

Enticing him with the remote...

Finally got the remote!!!!!

Videos

So here are the videos I promised to post. He takes a nose dive in one but gets up and at it again. Tough guy!!!

Almost Crawling!!!!

Lastnight Patton crawled two little bitty crawls. My mom swears that he crawled for her last week so I guess I may have to believe her now. It was so funny though because Patton will pick his hand up and slam it down on the floor and then the next hand goes up in the air and slams down on the floor and then he moves his legs. It is hysterical. I have a video to post but will have to post later... I am at work but just wanted to share while it was on my mind. Well, who am I kidding, Patton is always on my mind! :)

Our weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Bill!!!

We headed to Alpharetta this weekend to visit Grandma and Grandpa Bill. We had a very busy but very fun weekend. I went to Lake Hartwell Friday night to spend time with Jessica at her bachelorette party and Mark headed to Midtown Saturday night for Josh's Bachelor party. We both had a great time. Patton really enjoyed his time with Grandma and Grandpa Bill. Grandma took Patton for a walk and he got to meet some neighbors along the way. We also spent some time at the Ring's, the next door neighbors, house while we were there and they just couldn't believe what a happy and content baby Patton is. Me, Patton and Grandma went swimming at the neighborhood pool and Patton of course loved it. He is a little fish. Also while we were there Patton reached a milestone! He can now go from the crawling position to sitting up which means his muscles are really getting stronger!!!!!! That was exciting. So as you can tell it was a very busy weekend but full of fun.

Supper Club with Sunday School class

Tonight we had our June Supper Club with the Vines', Garza's, and the Dedmon's. The Vines' hosted and prepared a wonderful meal with spinach and cheese stuffed pasta shells. It was so much fun and there were so many children for Patton to play with! There were six of them, Camilla, Charlotte, J.T., Daniel, Charles and Patton. Charles and Patton are a month apart and it was so fun to watch them interact with one another. We hope to get them together soon to play. I forgot to take my camera so there are no pictures to share but hopefully I will remember it for next month. Patton was a trooper and stayed up way past his bedtime so hopefully tomorrow will go okay.
