UH-OH

This morning we had our first uh-oh. Since Patton has been crawling and taking steps I have been so afraid that he will fall and hurt himself. So far he has been great. If he falls I wait and see how is going to react before rushing over to him and so far he has not whimpered once when he falls or bumps his head. But this morning, he was taking a couple of steps and slipped into the ottoman and starting crying immediately. Before I could get over to him he had calmed down for the most part but he had blood on his pajamas. Mark and I quickly examined his mouth and made sure all of his teeth were still there and then we concluded that he busted his lip. I felt really bad for him and of course worried that it may be more than just a busted lip but at the same time I was proud of him; he cries worse when he gets his diaper changed. He is a tough little baby!

Patton's first bath in the "BIG" bathtub

I know what most of you are thinking.... Gosh we sure did wait a long time to take Patton out of his infant bathtub and make the switch to the "big" bathtub. I guess I was afraid he was going to slip and bump his head, or fall face first in the water or all kinds of other stuff but we finally took the plunge and he loved it!

Patton's swing!

We decided that we would hang Patton's swing in the tree today and I was so excited for him to get it in and try it out. He loved the swing while he was sitting still but as you can tell from the video, he was TERRIFIED of the swinging part. Hopefully he will get over that since it was his first time in there.

On our way to walking

So Patton has taken about 2 steps by himself but he is really interested in walking toys now. He has one little truck walker we took from Nana's house but tonight he decided that his gum ball machine was a better walker than the truck. He is getting pretty good!

We were BUGGED!

Last Saturday Mark and I and Patton loaded up in the car and headed to Tuscaloosa to take Patton out on the quad for the very FIRST time. We had such high hopes and good intentions. We made it to Tuscaloosa and got Patton is his game day attire and headed to the quad. About 1/4 of a mile from my mom's house we heard Patton THROW UP. A stomach bug had been going around at daycare and we were really hoping that Patton wouldn't get it but apparently he did. So we turned around, loaded up in the car again, and drove back to Birmingham. Patton was very pitiful for a few days but was back to normal on Tuesday and we hope he makes his debut on the quad soon!

Almost walking

During our beach trip Patton started taking steps around the coffee table while holding on. Since then he has learned how to walk along the couch of course still holding on but on Saturday he took ONE STEP! I know it's not much to get excited about because it will probably be a while before he does it again. Mark told his teachers at daycare on Monday what happened over the weekend and when I showed up yesterday to get Patton his teachers had put on the bulletin board "Patton is taking steps!" I was so proud.

Also I decided to have professional pictures made of him since he will be one soon so if you want to view them you can go to www.crosbythomley.com and go to client login and it will ask for a secret code and then put in PattonC. Happy viewing! If you look at them please send me back a comment and let me know which are you favorites. I am having the hardest time picking them out. Thanks!
